  • Treating Giardia In The Wilderness

Lets say you decided to go out into the bush and "live off the land".
Your home is in some remote area miles away from civilization.
    You end up getting Giardia.

Does anyone know how to naturally treat it without getting prescriptions from a doctor?
    Or is it even possible?
I been searching and have not found anything but keeping yourself hydrated because of the constant diarrhea.
I'll keep my guns, freedom, and money... YOU CAN KEEP THE "CHANGE"!

If you have some alcohol, the drinking kind, I can help.
First you have to make tincture of black walnut. This is my grandma's recipe and according to her it is good for parasites, skin fungus and head lice.

In the fall, collect 3 or 4 walnuts straight from the tree. You want the ones that are still all green. Don't use any with any discoloration. Put them in a mason jar filled about 3/4 way full with your alcohol (vodka, pga, moonshine) . Put the lid on it and set it in a cool dry place for 4 days. You will also need a dropper.
For parasites (giardia, pinworm, tapeworm) start with 4 or 5 drops 4 times on the first day. Increase by 3 or 4 drops until you reach 20 drops 4 times a day. Continue 20 drops 4 times a day for 10 days to 2 weeks. Best on empty stomach.
For skin fungus apply to area twice a day for 10 days to 2 weeks.
For head lice, coat head with tincture and leave on for 3 or 4 days in a row.
I've never used this, but my parents swear by it. I don't know if the black walnuts do it or if they just drown in the alcohol.

          1. Plant essential oils can work effectively against Giardia. Essential oils like garlic oil, croton cajucara oils can be used as natural treatment of Giardiasis. They are effective and they also offer other benefits.
          2. Raw garlic is also good as a natural treatment of giardiasis.
          3. You can use grapefruit extract.
          4. Use Pippali rasayana, a ayurvedic formulation. This formulation contains Piper longum and Butea monosperma (palash). You can use Pippali rasayana (PR) for the treatment of parasites like Giardia.
          5. You can use Piper longum or Indian long pepper as natural treatment of giardiasis. You can make some aqueous solution of peeper in water or ethanol. Keep it for a few days and then use it.

I believe that colloidal silver will do the same thing it kills just about any biological bug virus and parasites also diamatacious earth if eaten will kill parasites on the in side and it will kill just about all bugs and parasites on the out side ,just about all bugs w/ an exoskeleton ie ants, wasps hornets

The best treatment for Giardia in the absence of metronidazole is no treatment. Your body mounts an immune response and assuming you stay well hydrated and slow down the diarrhea, the symptoms abate on their own. You may get chronic Giardiasis with occasional flareups but when you return to earth you just take metronidazole. The key to preventing parasitic infections (and some are much, much worse than Giardia, is prevention). Boil or microfilter your water supply or put a drop or two of iodine in it. Microfilters are the handiest and are very cheap now and filter out pretty much everything except some viruses. Don't drink from any stream unless you are right on top of the mountain or unless your life depends on it until you have purified the water and you don't have to worry about antibiotics or lots of homeopathic remedies which may or may not work.
