  • Remedy - Head Cold/ Sinus?

Anyone have a tried and tru remedy for a bad head cold? I've been doing mint tea with raw honey and tumeric. and seems to help some, so long as I'm sipping on a mug almost constantly. My eyes are watering, sneezing like crazy and my nose goes between completely stuffed up to running like a faucet.

I was trying to not take any off the shelf cold medicine products but might just have to breakdown and go with it.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you!

Get your tea kettle going put honey lemon juice in it and bring to a boil. Take a towel and cover your head and let the steam do its work. Just breath it in.

There are herbs that will help too. "eucolipts" spelling error leaves. Do this several times a day and your head will feel better as the day goes on.

Thanks Rich. I'll see if I can find the eucolipis or whatever. Think I'm going to grease up with some vicks and go crash... tomorrow is going to be miserable at work...

Eucalyptus. That's the stuff. Try adding a pinch of cayenne to your tea. That should knock some mucous out. If you have access to fresh oregano make a tea with that. Essential oil of oregano can also be used. 2 drops to 16 oz of water and slug it down as fast as you can. Do that every two hours until you are cleaned out.

Thanks Apex... I've heard of the cayenne but totally forgot about that. the oregano is a new one on me though. Thankfully after a few days I was over the worst but I'm sure it was the first of the season to come..

You might try adding cinnamon to the lemon and honey. I have always used massive doses of Vitamin C and water to flush everything out. Good luck with the remedies. No fun to have a cold anytime, but Winter is the worst.

I've had sinus problems for most of my life. The best solution I've found is a NeilMed Sinus Rinse. It was my ENT who first told me to use it. Some people will tell you to use a Neti Pot but the Sinus Rinse bottle is much more user friendly. The plastic bottle makes it easier to flush out your sinuses and gives you more pressure. It works great for head colds and allergies too.
Since you are rinsing out with saline there is no concern about putting medication in your body. They are inexpensive and sold at Walmart, Amazon and many other places.
