    Chicory, the Natural coffee substitute

just take the roots, bake, then grind up and Viola natural Coffee substitute.

some brewers have even used chicory root as an additive to their stouts.

it can also be used to combat Intestinal parasites.

    More to follow. LOL

yes it can act as a laxative. LOL. which means in a SHTF situtation it can be used to treat Chronic constipation.

if you bruise the leaves you can aslo use it on gout, skin eruptions, and skin inflammations.

if you mix the juices of carrot, celery and parsley with chickory. its good for correcting minor eye problems.

dry root in doses of half a teaspoon, mixed with honey if taken three times a day, is a good expectorant in chronic bronchitis

Ive been told that most of my life about dandelions, but never tried it. I know you can heat pine cone till it opens, remove the seeds, roast them and make a drink out of them as well. but I dont imagine it would taste good LOL.

It is not caffeinated it's just close to the taste of coffee. It's in my gorilla garden at a park 3 blocks from my house and in a pinch, to make your coffee go farther you could mix it in at about 40% to your coffee. It's not so bad that way. I would suggest everyone pick up a good medicinal plants book and read up on it.
