  • Squirrel Hunt Today (Graphic)

Well, sort of. It was in my backyard. This S.O.B. keeps messing up my veggie garden and keeps eating stuff in it.
I tried a lot of other ways to keep him out. Nothing worked.
So I went to the .22 Air Rifle.

I'm about to that point to, they keep getting in my hen house. I counted 15 of them on or around it today and 2 inside but then couldn't get out.

Good shot. I don't share well especially when it comes to my garden and other things that I spend a lot of hard work putting together.

thanks guys. I got it right behind the ear.
Standing with no rest on the gun. It gets shaky in the scope when the gun isn't resting on something.
It was only about 15 yards away. It was up in the tree too.

I've heard that before. Never tried it.
I'd like to use the fur to make a small pouch.
                    I just don't know how.

                        The gravy is easy....

clean as any other small critter...

I boil in some salt water until tender....

                        strip meat from bones....chop....

into hot cast iron skillet goes 1 pad of butter....coat bottom....

                        toss in meat....brown slightly...

now here is the part where I cheat....I am notorious for burning a roue...so....

into a glad ware or Tupperware container....put in to heaping tablespoons of AP flour....a pinch + of salt....and as much pepper as you like (I like a lot of pepper)...slightly blend (shake container)....then add 1.5 to 2 cups milk...put the top on and shake enthusiastically....until mixed well (a couple lumps are to be expected)...

pour over meat in skillet and stir.....stir....stir...add another pad of butter if desired....stir until it thickens

If you like it warmer....add some red pepper flakes into the meat when browning.

over biscuits or toast of your choice.

It's enough to feed 2....but when I make squirrel gravy....you may as well make a mess of them....4 to 6 squirrels and a 16" CI skillet.....yum.

Yep. squirrel stew, but up here they're about 8" from nose tip to tail tip so it takes a few to make enough for the family, so a lot of times I'll mix them with rabbit.
