Rolling tool check/cart for chuck box (and/or other bug out ready uses)

Anyone using a rolling tool box for either camping or as a ready-to-go bug out storage item?

I'm thinking of it in place of a chuck box, but don't see a lot of examples of it used that way online. That makes me wonder if there's some reason for it not working out so well, for that purpose.

There are a bunch of different versions of these carts. That's another aspect where, anyone who's tried this, some input from would be useful.

I saw an amazon review for a similar item and the guy said he'd had to reinforce it a bit, and had spray painted the inside white to make it easier to see things in it.

There are lots of examples (on amazon, in the reviews) of people making using these to tote gear to their kids' competitions, and such, and they had decorated the outsides.

Seems like a fun possibility to explore and think about.

Interesting concept. The smaller one looks like it is the size of a cooler. The larger one could be a problem transporting without a truck/van/suv. It would be a problem getting that in a car. Looks like it has enough room to carry everything you would need. Maybe rig it up to attach to the back of a bicycle? Lots of possibilities.

Of course, once I posted that initial statement about how I wasn't seeing a lot of examples of it used that way, I searched a bit more and found a bunch more examples of exactly that use, AND, I'd even pinned one (maybe pinned it twice?). So lots of folks who had the same idea and I probably got it from them and forgot about having seen it there first.

Using those for bugging out is a great idea.especially if you can get one that's not only good for having in a vehicle.but good for going it on foot,bicycle,motorcycle as well.and of course there's camping gear as well.and just thought.they could be used at home as well.when it comes to storing items in a more compact area.

it looks like a good idea, and I might have to explore it a bit more. Right now we use the opaque plastic bins. Years back we bought a fully enclosed trailer (6' high x 6'wide x 10'long) that we used when camping with all the kids. I built collapsible shelves that were the right size for the larger containers. Each kid had their own container, plus the others were set up for food, cleaning, cooking....etc. We always kept the trailer packed and ready to go. Those bins worked out great for us; it was easy to see what was in each one. But this idea has a lot of potential. thanks.

In dire circumstances you might consider using a wheeled ice chest for the same. Of course it is just a wheeled plastic box but if you have nothing else, it adds some totting ability you can pull instead of carry.
