I'll generally ring it first to keep from having the side splinter out.......just another method....which knife is that?

I will have to try ringing it next time. That is a great idea. The knife in the picture is a Roger C. Linger Bushcraft in S30V it was inspired by the Woodlore.

Roger Linger made great knives, but his customer service sucks. I paid a deposit on mine. In May of I am guessing 2006 or 2007 he told me my knife would be ready in two weeks and asked for the remainer of the balance to be paid in full and that was the last I heard from him. In October I used a differnent email address and asked him about getting a knife made. He responded and I asked him where was the knife I had already paid for? I ended up getting it about two weeks later. I am not the only one with this kind of experience.

In my opinion Jason B. Stout & Charles May both make some really great bushcraft knives.

The top and bottom knives belong to my wife. The middle one is mine.

              Love that knife.
What motion was that in the picture? Chopping or sawing?

I looked at one of those links and I would be just as mad as that guy was, if not more. He had every right to express his anger. Dude spent well over $300 and got nothing for a year!
Then you get that guy (Gossman Knives) with his bulls**t response about, "give it time". "He's human". Sticking up for the knife maker. That guy pissed me off when reading that.
I almost wanted to make an account there to just quote and reply to his crap, lol.

Ughhh my blood pressure is getting high now. lol ;)

It was more of a rocking motion.

I am also on another forum where Gossman is a member. I made him very upset because I critizied the title on one of his threads about a "bare bones" survival outing. The gear list was huge and I mentioned it looked more like a camping trip than a survival course.

Someone I know had money burning a hole in his pocket and called Gossman to order a knife. He said he was quite a jackass on the phone.
