    bravokilo17 lets send this back to the top I would like to learn a lot more on this as well. I have seen it done but I am sure there are a few tricks to it for beginers at this like us.

      Knaping is the process of flaking off small pieces of the material to accomplish a shape.

      The selection of the piece of flint to be used is important...one must look at the grain of the flint to determine wetheer the desired shape can be made from it.

      then using a fe primitive tools....and a leather hand guard....you begin to shape.

      a rock for striking large pieces off...then finer things like antler tips and I've seen small copper rods used modern day.....to do shaping and sharpening.

      volcanic glass...obsidian (spell?)....can flake to 1 molecule....insanely sharp.
