I guess I am the only one here who is in the SW US. Although Texas is not considred really Southwest, I consider the Midland Odessa area to be true SW desert. Anyone else in this area? Anyone interested in scoping out some BOL's in this area some weekend? I am leaning towards SE New Mexico. Sound off everyone around here!

Hey Rusty! You may be the only one out there! I traveled thru the Odessa/Midland airport twice this past year on the way to a natural gas field south of Fort Stockton. In case you haven't looked lately..THERE IS NOTHING OUT THERE! Coming from S.C. with trees, rivers, lakes, and houses, I was amazed at the remoteness of this area.
Could it be that everyone around you already knows how to survive and just aren't interested in a forum that teaches you to be prepared? I would think that any of ya'll out there could write the book! ;)
I went to the Purina Feed store in F.S. just to talk with a local about the area. He explained "sections" and "blocks". I just have a hard time believing that ranches can be hundreds of square miles and a cow needs 8-10 acres to survive. You live in a BIG place!
I will probably be back out there within a month or two. Actually looking forward to it. I want to get up on ones of those mesas and "look around". Have a good one.JUST CURIOUS? PRUNES ARE DEHYDRATED PLUMS. SO WHERE DOES PRUNE JUICE COME FROM?

I looked up Arlen. Are you the boss of the place?:cool:Last edited by lazer128; 12-26-2008, 12:38 PM.JUST CURIOUS? PRUNES ARE DEHYDRATED PLUMS. SO WHERE DOES PRUNE JUICE COME FROM?

Kind of. Been running Dales Dead Bugs here for a few years with my wife Nancy and son Joseph.
Actually people get me mixed up with the Mayor. His name is Rusty Shackleford. <-- Note, his name is spelled different. We are NOT related. In fact I would not vote him as dog catcher. Dogs with mange and worms deserve better then RS even touching them.Last edited by Rustyshakelford; 12-26-2008, 12:32 PM.
