  • Central NC Link-up??

    If anyone is interested…

Saturday March 7 (I will be there from 08 until 1200/1300)
Flintlock Valley Rifle Range, Uwharrie National Forest
(100 yard range with both rifle & pistol lanes / $3 daily shooting pass/ bring own targets)
(I always get my shooters pass at El Dorado Outpost on Hw 109; you won’t need the pass if you’re not shooting)

The thought was to just meet and talk; do some shooting if you like or maybe compare BOB components/configurations, and maybe plan for future meets/activities. The point is to meet and get to know each other away from the desktop.

I have taken a leap of faith here... telling you where and when I will be.

      WOW! So much interest...

Maybe it is just a bad day for you to get out...

Maybe you don't want to post for some OPSEC reason... thats fine; I am putting myself out there as a link-up point.

I will be there and I hope to meet some new folks. Oh, just in case I am not the only fellow there, I will have on a bright orange shirt. There, now you know where I will be, when I will be, and what I am wearing.

      Thanks.

        Howdy LH

Probably folks are still digging out from the snow. Uwharrie is a little far for me this weekend :( Maybe next time :) Kudos to you for trying to setup meetings

Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to
beat you to death with it because it is empty.

The faster you finish the fight, the less shot you will get.

It's a bad weekend for me too. I'm trying to catch up on my garden and chicken coop. We lost a lot of valuable time last weekend to the weather.

Thanks for the replies. My wife has come down with a bad strain of the flu that Tamiflu is pretty ineffective against, so we will not be going anywhere this weekend.

We really do need to put something together, something central and scheduled far enough in advance to plan for.
            Thanks,
            LH

I am up for it in the near future as well. I trust the wife gets better LH,
My wife is coughing and sneezing with a fever today too. I hope that she
is not coming down with that stuff and it's just a "Cold". PF

Copy that for me too, Hunter. Uwharrie is a bit of a ride for me from Western NC. Also, Kilo-Kudos for steppin' up.

Thinkin' out loud again...How 'bout you and me see if we can figure something between WNC and CenNC? Say Morganton, Statesville, ???, whaddauthink?
If it looks ignernt, but it works, then it ain't ignernt.

Sounds workable... I prefer somewhere "woodsy", maybe Lake Norman SP or similar location. I wonder if there are any members with any land that we could meet on in that general area? Or better, if someone just knows a location off the beaten path someplace.

I like the Uwharrie area (fairly isolated), especially since it has a range, ATV trails, and you can camp anywhere (National Forest), even though it is a solid 2+ hour drive for me. Statesville (3+ hour drive) is about as far west as I will travel for a "day" meet; once we do that, then we can plan a weekend meet.
Location, location, location... and a date. Maybe wait for consistent warmer weather and not on any holiday weekends.
Let me know what you think; but we do need to do this to move things forward for those that are ready.
Anyone reading this from the Cumberland County area, send me a pm and we can meet for a coffee.
                    Thanks,
                    LH

Sorry to hear about the wifey LH :( Hope she has a speedy recovery!!!

No offense but I REFUSE TO GO TO STATE PARKS BECAUSE OF THEIR "NO FIREARMS" PROHIBITION. Uwharrie, Pisgah or Natahala National Forests are places I will go to :)

However, don't let me spoil anyone's plans if that is where folks wanna meet up... just a personal policy of mine

I agree; hence my preference for Uwharrie.
