Male in his mid-forties, in great shape and have been involved in prepping and survival since my early teens in Boy Scouts. I have nearly 30 years of experience in emergency services with 23 years at the Paramedic Level of EMT. I am knowledgeable in the practicality and use of wilderness medicine in third world settings. I live in coastal North Carolina and interested in finding like-minded people of groups.

LOL!!! Love that area, but I know what you mean. I noticed the same think the last time I stopped in Black Mountain. The Liberal Arts are alive and well in that area. Years ago, I used to stop there all of the time and eat at a little Cajun restaurant called the French Quarter (I believe it was called that) It was owned and run by Jamie James (of AMA Road Racing fame) and his wife. I heard that they split up, so I'm not sure if it's even a restaurant anymore.
BTW... You ever read "One Second After"? It takes place there.... Ooops.. Don't answer that.. Just saw your post about it. :o

Anyway... Thanks for checking in, and hurry back! NC needs Preppers!!!

Checking in from current assignment in Colorado. Originally from Black Mountain/Montreat Area. Would love to move back, but the place seems to be getting weirder and more liberal every time I'm back there. I think the Asheville influence is moving east.
