I can't see turning anyone away that is like minded and brings something to the table. We could not tolerate a parasite. However, I believe that exceptions should be made for a widow or a child or for someone that obviously could not fend for themselves. No doubt, there would be some tough decisions to be made.
Diesel, this is what I think of when I think of location; My locale is urban. I have a hospital less than a mile away. Two schools, one private, just outside my back door. This would be a source of food and shelter, would house many and could be fairly well defended. The other school is a block away and would be a source of food also. The configuration of my street could be easily blocked off and is made up of sheeple and the elderly. This area has advantages and disavantages. The main disadvantage is that it is urban and less than a mile from a busy state highway. My house is a two bedroom and sits on a small lot that would accomondate some tents. What I bring to the table are my survival supplies which are broad and my tactical skills and know how. Two good 4wd vehicles, one being a marked police vehicle which I hope will present us with some advantages, but who knows.
Now, thats my situation. Under what situation would our members come here and under what situation would me and my wife go somewhere else and where? Obviously, a place out in the boonies would be prefered, but what if that designated area was where the threat just happened to set up there headquarters or if the area was contaminated by...whatever? I believe that we have to have as many options as possible.
    Discussion?

I was just reading about the Cheyenne, they were a fixed farming tribe but kept getting raided and pushed west by several other tribes. They moved to the prarie and built fortified vllages, farmed and hunted buffalo but they were still raided. About 1780 the Cheyenne got horses and became nomads of the plains to evade raiders and so missed out on the plagues that swept through the Mississippi and Missori valleys and wipwed out those tribes. Fixed locations have big advantages but must be defended.

        Would this be a 5 member team/partnership

Or open ended, as long as dues are paid for those on other regions that would want an east coast BOL
To be honest Diesel, never have seen it work but I am sure it is workable. The big thing is to find out who is interested and go from there. Lots of variables but it is just a matter of folks wanting it enough...

Of course like kenno said, fortifications require defense, a flexible base is sometimes the best plan... of course you gotta feel safe SOMEWHERE;)

beat you to death with it because it is empty.

                    Snal,

Greetings from Asheville! Do you happen to be old enough to remember "The Mr. Bill Show" on WLOS Channel 13? It was a show where newscaster Bill Norwood hosted Looney Tunes, Popeye, Hanna-Barbara, and other great cartoons.

Ha!...yep! I was on it! Bout 6 at the time I think (1966). Bob Caldwell was "Bumbo" the clown! Got a hoola-hoop, a loaf of "Bunny Bread", a coke and a Mc D's burger. I'll never forget how mean Bill Norwood was when the cameras went off. He jumped all over me because I didn't want a hamburger...I wasn't HUNGRY!:)...he tried to get me to just hold it (for promo reasons I suppose) but my mom and dad taught me not to waste...so I told him to give it to somebody that was hungry.
Met him again many years later at an air show...seemed nice then...but he didn't offer me a burger.
