Beautiful to hike through. I try to imagine living in the Olympics but snow isn't in my zone of familiarity. There is ongoing conversation about Survival Con 2012 if you're interested.

I took a different approach. I live on the slopes of an active volcano (Mount Hood). :D

Hey everyone. new to prepping always wanted to but never really started till now. Im in the Olympia area outskirts in the wooded areas. I was wondering if anyone knows some places (other than the big name stores REI, Cabelas) to find some of the small stuff. Ive got some survival gear but not much. Also some topo maps.

Wow. No posts in the NW section for well over two years! Is there still anyone in the Puget Sound area? I am South of Tacoma and looking to connect with other Survivalists and Preppers.

Hello. This is the first time I replied to a thread so hope the message gets through. I live 230 miles NE of Wenatchee WA. I'm originally from Michigan's UP. I feel where I am at is a good place if SHTF. Since I'm new here to WA, I don't no many people. I am volunteering for the Red Cross. I believe a most important aspect of long term survival in times of collapse is banding together an interconnected community . I think many people whom are prepping are so busy thinking of their own survival, and their own little groups that they don't see the value and importance of allying groups of people to be one larger community. "There is strength in numbers". I'd like to communicate with others from WA.I'd like to hear others ideas . Thanks

For those of you new to the forum please register and use the intro thread so everyone can say hi. You need to ask questions (Never had a bad question). Tell us about your self and what you want to take away from this forum. We can and will help you all we can. Most of us started out with nothing.

Myself I started back in 1993. No internet, no magazines, no contacts. Back then we were called nut cases or survivalists. Today it's a main stream issue and preppers. Even the Government has gotten in the act.
