Welcome to the Natural State...
I realize this is late, but welcome...I've been here since I retired from foreign service, and I love its topography and resources. I hope you'll fall in love w/it, too.
If you ever wanna chit-chat, you'll have a fellow Naturalist right here.

Once again, Thanks for the good thoughts and prayers! Now for the story.
We knew that after retirement we were going to move. Spent some time prettying up the old house with new paint etc. It was a solid house, but it also needed things like a new roof and probably a kitchen remodel. Spoke to a real estate agent who made numerous suggestions to make the house desireable in todays market and then spent the next 30 mins. telling us how the market was dead and nobody was buying and how the house on the next block had been on the market for 9 mos., etc. Wife and I had no desire to spend the time and money on the upgrades and wanted out before winter.
We were contacted by a friend of a friend (word of mouth) who basically flips houses. Agreed on a price (less than retail market, but then again the house was paid for and the price was more than enough to build our new place). Yes we were satisfied with the price, basically took the market price and deducted the cost of the upgrades and a reasonable profit for him and pulled the trigger.
I promise that we will never sell another house nor move again! It's amazing the stuff you accumulate after 30 yrs. in one house. Found stuff we forgot we had 20 yrs ago.
Anywho, we are now safely ensconced in our new AO in the northern part of the Natural state (our final resting spot).
Once again thanks to everyone, it's great to be back amongst our on-line friends!

And while we're here it seems that we just may have the house sold, supposed to close on Fri. If all is good, I'll be off the net for a little while until we get settled in the new AO. Thanks to everybody for their good thoughts and prayers.

Thanks Rusty. Up here we always have the golden parachute that city employees must live in the city, always somebody looking (I hope).
