Outdoor gear/skills contest
Prize is the 3 season DVD set of the Survivor man series. These DVDs are used, by me, but they are in excellent condition and in original box.
The purpose of this contest is to encourage participation on this site. I have one condition for the winner. Once you have enjoyed these videos and feel you have learned as much as you can from them that you pass them on to someone else free of charge. You can do that in a contest of your own on this site ( with Diesel’s permission of course) or give them to someone you feel would benefit from them. In other words pass them on and tell the next recipient to do the same. I would also like to encourage other members to start donating items you no longer need in a similar manner. We don’t all have the cash to invest in gear or educational materials and if you can donate something it may really help someone out in a big way. You never know.
The contest;
Post your true story about how you used your favorite piece of gear in an outdoors situation to make your experience a little more comfortable. Or explain how your knowledge of a certain skill did the same thing. Perhaps it saved your life or someone else’s or kept you from freezing all night etc. If you used a skill elaborate as much as possible so the rest of us can learn from it. One post per person.
Picking a winner; I am not going to judge your posts. For one thing I am not that important that I can tell you who is best and I don’t want to show any indication of favoritism. I will write your post # on a piece of paper and draw it from a hat. The winner will be notified so you can tell me where to send your prize. I will only ship to the 50 US states. Now here’s the catch. You get your name in the hat once for your post. You get your name in the hat once more for pictures that have something to do with your post. If you can include an instructional diagram or link etc that explains how to use the skill you wrote about that gets you another name in the hat. You could possibly get your name in the hat 3 times.
Contest ends Midnight Mountain time on April 4th. That gives you 2 weekends. Good luck.:cool:
