True, but most everything gets trucked in the majority of big cities from other places and there may be a higher concentration of "thing" in an urban area but I always felt the population offsets it. Not much is made in inner cities where it is not made elsewhere. Hence, why put yourself into a situation or for that fact leave yourself in an environment where it's "the survival of the fittest". It stands to reason there are "more" of the fittest to contend with. Growing up in an urban area and being "street wise", I'm streetwise enough to know it "ain't the place to be". Just me opinion....

Same here. You can't possibly have a spare of everything you need.. And then that thing breaks or wears out, it's off to the zombie zone. Scenarios would be interesting to see. How many people do you take? for example.

Urban survival might not be such a bad Idea as we may find ourselves venturing in there to salvage as things break or wear out
    I like that

I think escape the urban area would be the first order of business. Too many people vying for the same thing.

    a. Water retreval and storage
    b. Growing food
    c. Power generation
    d. Protection. Self and domicle

Just to name a few. I tend to concentrate on Urban Survival as we do not plan to head for the hills.
A lot of people don't have the hills in which to head. I think one of, if not the biggest, problem facing an urban survivalist will be the sheeple. The unprepared! Their government will no longer be sticking the proverbial nipple in their mouths. Looters will likely abound. I think urbanites will have to hunker down and protect what is theirs. Stack up dead looters and create a fortress.
