I have been in the KY Army National Guard, since 1990, with a 8 year break in service, I am still in, and have 4 years left on current enlistment.

I have been a 15T20FQ2, (originally 67 series) Tactical Helicopter Repairer. That is a Blackhawk Helicopter Mechanic (15T) section leader (20), and my secondary skill set is helicopter crew chief (F identifier) and now I can add the Q2 identifier as well, which is ALSE Technician, which qualifies me to inspect, repair, and maintain all of our flight equipment, survival gear, helmets, radios, flight clothing, etc. I have some BOB pics I need to post, lol! ;)

I have deployed all over the world with the Army. We were the first state to get the UH60 in the early 80's and National Guard Bureau used to let us do what was called a "KEEPUP" tour with the active component, I have deployed with the SOAR (aka 160th or the "Night Stalkers") to Central and South America while the little dance in Somalia was going on in the early 90's, and I have been to Iraq with 4-101 in 05-06.

All of that time I was in an assault helo unit, I have now (as of 2 years ago now) moved over to a medevac unit, and get to practice some medical skills as well, starting IV's etc, to maintain combat lifesaver certification (not combat medic, thank goodness!), normally you just have to do one stick a year to maintain it. We are doing it every month at drill. The medical skills are definitely ones that you have to practice over and over to maintain.

Plus the state likes to send us through a 3 week CQB course before we deploy over seas, which are some other skills we don't get to practice too much.

Dad was ex-Navy, but I didn't want to be stuck on ship. Went in the Marines and got stuck on ship for 2 1/2 years. Spent some time at almost every country around the Med., some time at Yugo, Isreal, and the Bahamas(tough duty). Home base was always Camp Lejeune. College was much cheaper in NC than NY, so I'm still here. I was a Journeyman Electrician and Generator Mech. I got out for school and relationships.

5 years as an 11BA and 45BH. When peace broke out the SF's TOandE were slashed so I tried for EOD but that went south too. The 70's was a bad decade for the service so I hit Civy Street.

Hello my brothers just wanted to stop in give ya my SitRep. I am a piror service 11B2P. I entered service in 1990 and headed to Benning for Basic, AIT, Abn School, and RIP. I didn't make it into the Rgr Bn. at that time and went to Gremany. Served with 2/15 INF in Schweinfurt Germany. I went back to RIP in 93 and made it into 3rd Rgr Bn where I was in ACo.. I ended up getting out in 94. I was in the NCNG until 99 and reentered service. I was stationed with BCo 2/325 AIR at Bragg. I ended up getting out in 2001. I wandered around NC doing construction jobs until about 3 months ago when I was offered a job on Bragg doing Counter IED training. I am proud to be serving my nation again and doing a very important job such as this. I look forward to getting to know ya'll and hope I do a little networking with some more local folks. Its always good to have like minded folks close by.

11B2P 80 Deuce out of Bragg - Active for 6 and Reserve for the rest. I am retired now. JOTC Panama back in the 80's. Other Infantry related stuff too. Afghanistan 2002. Taught for the Army several years. I still keep up with the guys in my old unit B Co. 1/505 Panthers. My LT was the best on the planet. He is still in and doing time in the Stan right now. My land nav skills were given to me my a former Marine Recon who defected to the Airborne. (Props to the USMC are due). My Platoon Sgts and 1st Sgt were all VV's so all the BS jungle warfare stuff (Some not all of it was BS) was corrected by these guys on the spot.

                            I miss those days....
