Nice looking burb. I bet you'll have no problem selling the 92 parts. Lots of Chevy's running around out there.

Sounds like a fair deal! It looks really clean! Im sure you can find someone to buy/ swap parts with! Keep us posted with your progress...
A vehicle like that, well maintained and such, and lower miles for that year!! Heck I have an 09, with 58k miles.. :) The Mr got rear ended a few weeks ago, we drive a Flex, and pushed him into someone else, so we got it from "both ends", literally... 9k of damage... grrrrr Just dealing with the under insured driver has been a pain... Luckily, no one was hurt..
Again, keep us posted!

Originally they only wanted to give us $4650.00 + other expenses. I told them that this was unacceptable due to the fact we had just done a major overhaul to the vehicle.
I showed the adjuster a pile of receipts and photos of all the new parts I had laying in wait...another new transmission, belts, starter, hoses, radiator, transfer case.....even wiper blades...he was impressed. All this is for a 1992 Suburban....with 200k
What I ended up with is $6500.00....all expenses.....and I get to keep the old truck with the low mileage motor and new transmission that I had put in a few months before...(along with a bunch of other stuff)...and get to keep the rental until the end of the month while looking for another vehicle.
This eve....we found a winner.....above...1999 Suburban 1500,4x4, with towing package, new tires, and 116k miles, extremely clean, one owner, clean carfax, every receipt for maintenance (oil changes every 3k to 3.5k).
This was their traveling vehicle....mostly back and forth to NC to visit relatives...reason for getting rid of....they got a 2011.
He was asking $5500.00....which was very fair....but when he found we were Scouters looking for a replacement bus.....we got it for $5000.00 and a promise to give our pack a $200 donation.
I feel we made out OK in the deal...but now I have to sell a bunch of parts for a 92....and buy them for a 99...oh well....:)

Great reliable vehicles! Im a Ford girl, but still.. :) I sold used cars for years, and the older years were always a "gem" to have and had great resale value. Plus, it does seem like you can find tons of parts! The resale value always seems to hold.. Good buy!
Oh, and by the way, not all used carsales"men" are bad :) lol..

Replaced the totaled BOV....
This was our BOV up until a couple months ago....
Then this happened....
Just picked this one up today.....
All is good.....and no one was hurt....and we ended up with an upgrade from a 92 with 200k....to a 99 with 100k.
only real downside is I have a ton of extra parts for the 92....:(
But I just ordered a ton of spare parts for the 99....:)Tags: None
