Pretty close. But 100k is really not a lot in this business. Plus, when things bottom out my skill set is so specific, that I am not too valuable outside the industry.

For West Texas $100k is a GREAT salary. Then again I imagine, based upon his knowledge and skills, that he is a manager or engineer for oil drilling. Then again there may be some seasonality to drilling work so this may be the basis of his $400 a day salary.

Regardless, I for one am glad someone is doing well. I have an interview today for a job in education that is fairly coveted but only pays $50-$65k a year with a masters and only slightly more for a doctorate. Everything is a trade off I guess.

It only costs $800.00 to fill up!!! A full 2 days salary to fill up a vehicle and drive it for a few days. It does look pretty cool though. I wonder if the chicks dig it?
