  • fuel dumps right before your eyes

today while loading asphalt at one of our bigger plants i noticed a 10,000 gallon tank on road and they have two 25,000 gallon off roaf tanks under ground in talking i got to thinking most job site's have at least a two hundred gallon tank not to mention truck terminals construction offices school bus depots and most quarries have big tank's as well.I AM NOT TELLING ANYONE TO ROB STEAL OR BORROW ANYTHING FROM ANY OF THESE PLACES...........I am only stating that in a life or death situation there may be fuel right before your eyes:eek::cool::confused::confused::confused::roll eyes::rolleyes:

The following link leads to an emergency siphon that I have purchased and used. Much better then sucking on one end of the hose and quickly putting said end into a bucket before it reaches your mouth. I have one for water and gasoline. Anyway this is one idea.

A hand -crank type Barrel pump might also prove to be a good investment.

Also another source that not many people think of is restaurant grease traps. This can be used as diesel fuel. What you need for this to work is lye, methanol alcohol, a strainer of some type (a shirt will do in a pinch), heat, and of course some grease from a grease trap.

I apologize but the exact process escapes me at the moment, but the process should be able to be looked up on line. (I have not memorized it yet as I do not have my diesel yet)

This will work very well in an emergency. Also this can be used regularly but regular diesel will need to be used afterward, when the fuel tank is just about empty to clean out the system before the grease diesel cools and congeals.

SHTF time ....... best thing to have handy is a sharpened screwdriver and hammer ...... just punch a car gas tank and let it flow ...... faster and for the most part less noticable ....... lots of the newer vehicles have anti-siphon devices built into the fill necks ......

Cordless drill is quicker and quieter,if you can keep the battery charged. That's what the gas thieves have been doing at the local lakes when people park and go out fishing.

Taking the above two posts at face value. I'm thinking I need to keep some JB Weld in my Vehicle's tool bag.

Seems like there's always just one more thing.

Actually there is a two part epoxy that is specifically for gas tank repairs. It is about the consistency of thick clay ,but when the two parts are mixed together you can stick the mixture right to the gas tank while the leak is still running out and it will adhere and stop the leak. Most auto parts stores such as ,Pep Boys ,Auto Zone ,Napa, etc. I know for a fact that it works because I was in Nashville several years ago and the car I was driving developed a pinhole in the tank and that is how I fixed it,it was supposed to be a temporary fix just to get home but three years later when the car was sold it was still holding so I highly recommend it.
