thanks to all for your suport and advice!! i checked out the motorhome, and i decided on that. though it may not be very good at offroading, i am pretty sure it could handle quite a bit of adverse terrain.....it's a '78 with a dodge 440, and pretty good amount of ground clearance. i chose it over the bronco due to having a wee one (daoughter). i can load it up with food water, fuel and supplies and keep mobile if needed. however, my BOL is about 8 hours away but is so secluded, i doubt there will be need for relocation once we get there. that and they offered the most cash in hand to go with the RV, which bought me another bike that is street legal, but can also offroad, and can be taken with........so all in all, it works out alright....but i sure will miss my cruiser....

I say go with the 4X4 because I picture blocked and clogged roads in SHTF event and you might end up having to dump the trailer to get through or to take secondary roads. Hell I have a big pop camper and during holiday weekends like 4th of july going to cape cod or the white mountians, I picture this is what the roads would look like but worse. You know stuck for hours and unable to make fast lane changes. My plan is load my 4X4 with the tents I have and family and gear and get out of dodge. That way there would be no roads that I could not take and it is much easier to hide a 4x4 with nothing in tow. Now if you own or have property were you could set up and leave the trailer as a fall back or bug out location then that is different, I would go with the trailer.

There are many of us placing a lot of emphasis on " buggin out", I'm not so certain that "buggin out" is going to be an option....however....I would consider buying a full size 4wd pickup truck...with a tow package....purchase a tent that is designed for use in the truck's bed...and get a trailer that can be pulled through rough terrain....my $.02. Good luck. My wife also believes I've gone over the edge....perhaps....but I'm well aware of what did the pushin.

take the bronco unless the camper is 4x4 like to see you take that off road and the family can sleep in the truck

If the motorhome is in good shape, I would be inclined to take that. If it is close by, go take a look at it. It sure couldn't hurt. Just my .02's worth.:)

It would be hard to choose. I would lean more towards the motorhome- just having the mobility to move your family with a lot of supplies at once. The motorhome could be parked and lived in. Glad you brought this up, I have a bike that I am thinking about trading in for a BOV. Good luck.

I like the idea of mobility, speed and fuel efficiency the Bronco offers over the motor home. Both are old and probably not maintained like someones life may depend on it.. So choose the one that's less likely to breakdown.

well, what's the book value on the bike and the RV? An RV is almost as good as a home, but if you need a vehicle to get around with, then you might want to go with the other. But, the SUV is almost 15 yrs old, so may not be the best vehicle

    i need some quick advice!!

i recently put my honda shadow on craig's list, in hopes of getting enough cash for it to buy a good BOV and get another cheap lil daily rider to get me around....well, i have 2 reasonable offers so far....one is a early 90's motor home in great shape, sleeps 6-8 comfortably, or a 95 bronco + 250 cash that i can put towards another scoot....(not sure if the guy with the rv can throw any cash on the deal.) so my question is, what would you pick? a nice 4x4 and some cash, or the motor home, which can keep me and my fam under a roof and mobile if needed.....either way, my wife thinks i'm retarded for giving up my 2nd love - my bike. but then again she gets freaked out every time i bring up preperations and just says that i am paranoid and spent too much time in the corps....but that's another problem altogether....so enough of my rambling, what would you pick?
Working...
