Auxiliary Fuel Tank

My wife has her car and I have mine. We also have a '96 Chevy S10 pickup. It doesn't get used much, but it's handy to have when we need it.
I was thinking that if it had an auxiliary fuel tank on it, it would get me farther out of town if the need arose and gas wasn't available. Also, maybe more importantly, if the tank had some sort of drain valve, I could take fuel out to use in a generator or for other uses.
Can't find any info on whether anyone makes or installs auxiliary tanks for this type of small pickup. I don't want to mount a tank in the bed and take up space that I need there.
Any ideas?

Does your truck have the spare tire mounted under the bed? If so you can mount another gas tank in its place and put the spare in the bed or mounted on the tailgate.

I know these guys r a little pricey, but I haven't found much of a market for under truck tanks out there.

I have a full size Dodge diesel and want to get it where I have around 100gal on board. With my current mileage I could drive from NC to Cal without stopping with that much fuel, and still have some for sightseeing once I get there.
Only problem is, with kids on board furthest you will get without Potty break is about 3-4 hrs, lol.
Unless you travel at night with them asleep (peace on earth, or at least in vehicle).
