Here is an old trick an old German taught me. This is how to make a drinking glass from a beer bottle without glass cutting tools using only the following items: natural fiber string (cotton, hemp, etc), a bottle and a flammable liquid. Lamp oil works best. You will also need cool water in a container and a flame source.
Step 2 is to dunk your natural string into the liquid and tie it around the bottle where you want to cut it. Wipe off any excess flammable liquid from the bottle.
Step 3, my all time favorite part of this project, set the bottle with the string on the floor and light er up!!! Yeah baby!!!! Make sure to have a clean rag nearby to grasp the hot bottle with. Dig the flames man...almost hypnotic aren't they?
Your glass is done. What is really cool about this process is the edges are not sharp. However, if you feel a small sharp edge, a roughing up with a rock or some sand paper will work. But, mine is good enough to use just the way it is.
wow man that's really cool! let's see some more of the finished product

Don't throw that top away. This top makes a perfect funnel for filling up pouches with flour, or sugar or dried herbs. You can even keep the beer top as a plug for the funnel and use it to measure things.
You can look at the edges of the funnel and see that the heat actually scored it so it is not sharp but smoothe. The whiskey glass.....er I mean drinking glass part is as clean and dull.

I know lots of little ditties like that. I will try to post some of them in the near future. Most of them are for making less thenn legal stuff, so I won't post those.
