Those are some good skills to have. I have never really sat down and thought about or listed what skills I have. My first thought is, absolutely none when compared to others on this board. ;)
I can't shoot worth a flip and don't even really LIKE guns, though I am not anti-gun at all, just my personal experience with them while growing up..
Hmmm...

Hmmmm....
- "Ladies arts" including sewing, quilting, beading, crocheting, knitting, embroidery. Once mended a torn tent in a 60 mile an hour wind with nothing but a cross-stitch needle and embroidery floss. LOL! Used duct tape for a thimble since cross-stich needles don't have a sharp point on them, pushing through multiple layers of tent material was ... interesting :p.
- Cook. I have gone on a 10 day primitive camping trip, cooking for 17 people and not run out of anything. All were very pleased with their variety and quality.
- Plan. The camping trip cooking thing or any road trip, takes a bit of planning. This is usually my job.
- Shoot. Do fairly well with pistol, shotgun, and rifle. If we hadn't gotten (figuratively) rained out when we took the AR-15 out, would see how I do with that, too. No, I've never had to shoot when under fire myself.
- Figure things out, can jerryrig with the best of them.
- Be a right hand. When the Owl works on something, I hand the tools and can usually give him the right thing before he even asks.
- Give the best Mom hugs on the planet, according to all my kids, gkids and their friends.
- Can navigate with a map. This is something that comes very easy to me, I'm always astonished when I encounter someone who cannot read a map and get from point A to point B.
I reserve the right to edit this when I think of other stuff.Last edited by Skyowl's Wife; 05-05-2009, 08:51 AM."If Howdy Doody runs against him, I'm voting for the puppet." - SkyOwl's Wife, 2012

Let's see...
I'm getting older so some of the "skills" are waning. I can no longer lift that bale or tote that barge, I've hurt myself too many times and had too many surgeries to repair the booboo's, but here goes. I can...
Tie knots in my shoe laces. Sometimes can't get them undone so they must be good.
Shoot every weapon I own, field dress my kills, and drag them from the woods or wherever.
Clean each and every weapon I own.
Reload ammunition for each and every weapon I own except the .22LR
Do repairs to most anything if I have the tools and parts on hand. Otherwise a trip to the hardware store solves that. (I know, in a case of TSHTF, it will just remain broken.)
Start a fire and keep it going.
Used to be able to repair our vehicles but modern electronics in them has made that skill OBE.
Make almost any repair to the 5th wheel except the fridge or stove.
Mow the grass (luckily we don't have very much as we live in the desert)
Dig the garden. Plant the seeds. Harvest the crop.
Do what "Wife" tells me to do. (That's the most important one.)
I can cook, wash dishes, do laundry and iron blouses or shirts.
Navigate with a compass and a map. I can also do it without a map or compass but it takes a lot longer. (No I don't ask for directions, I'm a man.)
Otherwise, I'm a jack of all trades and a master of none. I can do almost anything if you don't want perfection.Last edited by Skyowl; 05-05-2009, 08:54 AM.As Zombie Axe would say...

I used to vacuum the carpets but we took all the carpet out of the house.
Trained? That is not the word I would have used for this...As Zombie Axe would say...

You've gotten the wrong idea...
We do the things that we each have the specific talent for and share all the other chores. I enjoy helping by spousal unit, life partner, better half, or whatever name you might assign her. She is my partner and has been for 39 years. We even spoon at night. (Get out the forks folks so you can poke yourself in the eye.) That is not what I meant and you know it. We are confortable sharing the things that life has thrown our way and will continue to do so. Those things that don't interest one of us, the other gets to do by themselves. I for one do not do quilting! But I like Quiche. As Zombie Axe would say...
