    I have some skills

    Firearms, reloading, and gunsmithing.

    A good knowlege of food.

I know lots of good places to buy great survival gear, cheap.

I know where to buy lots of firearms stuff. Mostly online.

I am pretty good at caching.

    Don't know much about knots.

I know how to field dress and butcher and know how to use all of the animal.

    Got some other skills too.

Sorry, I am nowhere near the N.E.

      hmmmm...

A good knowledge of guns and gun know how

      Tactical and problem solving skills

      Camoflage, sight and sound

      I can fish

I can hunt but can't dress out game. (bet if I was hungry I could cut off a piece meat)

I was an EMT and I have first aid skills

I have many military skills left over from my time in service and have seen them kick in when I've needed them.

I can drive and fire and M1 Abrams tank. LOL:D

I can build a fire and cook. (and it really be edible)

      I can cover my tracks

I'm not a contractor by any stretch of the imagination but have good handy man skills in most areas.

I want to learn to dress and skin an animal. I have a compound bow but I am no good with it but want to learn. I would like to learn how to work with leather and rope. I would like to learn how a to build a permanent wilderness structure (or find a good cave, either will do)

I know how to lead, and I know how to follow, and yes...it's a skill.

            Knots

For those members weak in knot tying...try this link:

Animated Knots is the world's leading site for learning how to tie knots of any kind. From Boating Knots, Fishing Knots and Climbing Knots to how to tie a Tie, or even Surgical Knots — we’ve got it covered.

I teach confined space rescue, and teach boyscouts. This site is really useful.

Hmmm....qualifications....how to say enough without saying too much...lol

*I have been an outdoorsman since birth (literally, I was born in a tent in CO....long story.).

*Expert in improvised weaponry and munitions.

                *Elevated knowledge of concealment.

*Qualified expert - pistol and long rifle.

                *Qualified marksman - longbow.

                *Knowledgeable hunter/fisherman/trapper.

                *Proficient field chemist.

                *Intelligence and recon experience.

                *Hand-to-hand and blunt weapons specialist.

                *NR EMT-Intermediate w/ACLS cert.

*Tri-lingual - Castillian Spanish, French, and English, duh.

                Field-expedient mechanic (good McGyver skills).

*Foreign contract service experience (10+ yrs).

                *Crazed whacko.

What am I working on? Well...

*I'm currently receiving instruction on concealment from another, more experienced spook.

*While I can cook just about anything to the point of edibility, I am always expanding my little library of field-expedient game recipies.

*I'm working to expand my knowledge of natural chemistry and medicinal herbs.

*I've always known two things about knots: either it should slip, or it shouldn't....I would like to become more proficient in knot tying and application, it's just not at the top of my list.

As far as preparations...I've been at a constant state of maximum readiness since returning home from service....about 3 yrs. And in my experience, anything you can't hump out on foot is just a waste of money and time. I appreciate the idea of the BoL, and have one prepared, but if I can't make it there for some reason, I'll be just fine with what's on my back and in my hands.

BTW....bebop said one thing that I can't help but chime in on...

The ability to lead and to follow.

There are perhaps no more useful skills when it comes to interaction and effective cooperation. Good leaders are not born, they are the ones who were the absolute best followers, and paid attention. Good followers are the ones who, by their above-mentioned attention, have the ability to lead when the occasional SNAFU occurs.

OK I'm new here to this board and am filling out some of the basic questions I guess. I am an experienced outdoors man. I hunt I fish, I shoot guns a lot.

I see more deer during hunting season than many people see in a lifetime. I don't shoot many though for a number of reasons. My interpretation of success in the field for gathering , hunting or fishing is "Would I have eaten today". I see game as close as several feet from me, including deer. I hunt full cammo and usually when other hunters approach they leave with out seeing me. If they can't see me they won't shoot me is my theory on this.

I field dress what I kill, I butcher what I kill and have in the past tried my hand at preserving the hides (brain tanning, smoking).... I need some more work on this.

I have basic mechanic skills (I drive a 95 Volvo wagon, by choice!, and so I have to know how to do tweaks to keep it going), I also ride Harleys... again... you have to be able to at least pull the plug and check it it is getting gas, spark, compression.

I am very experienced in firearms. From pistols to tanks (BeeBopCop: M60A3 for me! It's old school but it's still a tank!). I have been a civilian range master for machine gun shoots, .50 cal shoots, I have helped others with providing training to some LEO recruits... (scary story there) I prefer to keep to myself and go to the range a lot and if in the course of being there I can help someone I do... or if I see someone more experienced I ask questions.

I have pretty good McGyver skills, especially when teamed up with another person who has some.

I have extensive experience with high tech communications gear

I know a bit about how to make traps for small game and fish

I have a pretty good sense of direction

I'm sure there is more but it'll come with time.
