  • Selco Talks About the Bosnian Civil War Christmas Seasons

If not familiar with Selco >>>>>>>

"Selco survived the Balkan war of the 90s in a city under siege, without electricity, running water, or food distribution.

In his online works, he gives an inside view of the reality of survival under the harshest conditions. He reviews what works and what doesn’t, tells you the hard lessons he learned, and shares how he prepares today.

He never stopped learning about survival and preparedness since the war. Regardless what happens, chances are you will never experience extreme situations like Selco did. But you have the chance to learn from him and how he faced death for months.

Real survival is not romantic or idealistic. It is brutal, hard and unfair. Let Selco take you into that world.

I have read many articles on the Balkan Wars on Survival Blog .com; the James Wesley Rawles site. IMHO they are the closest thing to a real TEOTWAWKI situation. I found them very interesting and informative, and they certainly had an influence on my prepping. Nothing theoretical. These people lived the nightmare for years. What I read were true stories of survival mostly in an urban setting. I would highly recommend them.

Good post IW. We should all read these. I will give you a healthy dose of reality.

Very interesting article. I took 4 points that were most important to me: 1.) Reduce space you need to heat. 2.) Urban Hypothermia. 3.) Get extra clothing. 4.) Store considerably more means to start a fire than you already have. All of these will help.

This is a very real situation coming from someone who lived the nightmare. Well worth reading.

tagging on another recent Q & A session with Selco ....

this one is titled "Who Survives and Who Dies" ....

              https://www.theorganicprepper.com/se...who-dies-shtf/

some of the info is common sense - some insightful - most confirms what we suspect will happen as astute preppers .....

OK fellow preppers - here's another Selco interview of his recollection of the day to day living under a constant- longlasting urban warfare SHTF .....

                https://www.theorganicprepper.com/se...rage-day-shtf/

as usual there's tidbits of possible intel to be gathered by this experienced survivor - definite confirmation of some of the prepper beliefs of what a SHTF "afterlife" would be like ...

good reading on this glorious non-SHTF Friday ....
