Here is a decent knife for your outdoor needs, I don't like serration cuz it's harder to sharpen in the field. I have always liked the tanto style for survival knives because of the even thickness along the blade. I've never broken a knife blade no matter how hard I hit it while cutting kindling or digging into trees for tinder so the shape really doesn't matter, it's just the placebo effect for me.

Columbia River Knife and Tool (CRKT) makes and outstanding product and have always been a good product for the money. Some of there tactical folders saw duty in Desert Storm. I have owned several of their products and would not hesitate to purchase anything they make.
