The MiniBlade Innovator Contest...
Okay....a friendly rivalry between myself, Mr. Shakelford, and a couple of my other forum buddies has sparked a new idea.....
Let's see who can best improve on the M40 design of the $0.10 survival knife.
If you're interested, here are the rules we've come up with:
*Your design must be original...you may assume M40's design as v1.0, but any other improvements must be your own.
*Your design must be homemade, and your base platform must be a standard hacksaw or reciprocating saw blade, any TPI, any strength, any tooth aggresion.
*Your design must be no longer than 6" from hilt to point, nor greater than 1/2" thick along any part of its profile.
*No weight limitation.
*You MUST post photos of EVERY phase of production, as well as name any techniques or products used (hey, this is educational, as well).
*You MUST be an XColony member to participate in this contest.
*The top ten entries will be nominated by XColony Team Members (yes, if you are a team member, you may nominate your own design), and will be voted on by Xcolony members in a poll to select the winner.
Since I'm feeling generous, the winner will receive one of these, out of my pocket:
While I will be participating in the contest, I will be removing myself from the voting portion.....obviously I don't need to give myself any prizes....;)
Remember, we're not looking for the "perfect, slimline packer"....we wanna see what you can come up with within these parameters....go crazy...make it pretty, make it cool....who cares, just do the best you can to outdo the competition.
You must post to this forum in order to enter. The contest will not be judged until there are at least 10 entrants. Once the first ten entrants have posted their projects, entries will be accepted for the following 7 days, at which time the competition will enter the voting phase.
