  • His & hers PSK/Bushcraft/Scandi knives in the works by Jason B. Stout

I am a knife junkie. These are currently being made for my wife & me. OAL 7 1/2", Blade 3 1/2" long, 5/32" thick, tapered tang, CPM S30V Steel, stonewashed finish, Yellow G10 scales, stainless "Loveless" bolts, stainless lanyard tube & heat treat by Bos. The sheaths are still being made from leather. They will have an attachment for a Light My Fire "Army" fire steel. The sheaths will be able to be worn horizontally or vertically. Thanks for looking.

Thanks. I wanted to see how small I could get a dedicated survival knife big enough to hold on to it properly. This is the result.

I found him by accident on ebay a few years ago. I was looking for knife stuff and one of his knives popped up. Jason is a full time tool and die maker and a part time knife maker. He is very talanted and has a reasonable waiting list. I have bought a bunch of knives from him since then. If he doesn't currently offer what someone is looking for he will help design whatever knife you want as was the case in these knives.

First of all I want to say I love the design of these knives! I just want to know if he will make an identical style in carbon steel and with a longer blade?

The guy has a really good design here in my opinion!

Jason is very easy to talk to on the phone. He will make whatever knife you want. He does his own heat treatment on carbon steel. I think he keeps A2, D2 & 1095 in stock. He had to special order the S30V for my knives. I know he made a knife out of BG42 for another customer. He sends stainless out to Bos for heat treatment. His leather work on the sheaths is outatanding, too. He can do flat, hollow or scandi grinds.

They are now completed. I can't wait until they arrive. Below are some pictures of the completed sheaths. Thanks for looking.

They didn't turn out nearly as nice as I had expected. They look cheap and actually quite ugly. They probably won't hold much of an edge either. To save you the embarrassment of being seen with these disgusting "knives" (if you could call them that) you may feel free to ship them to me, free of charge, for "proper" disposal.
I wouldn't do this for just anyone... But I do try to help when and where I can.:D:D:D

What a great over all design. The blade shape is one of my favorites.

I have to agree with the blade shape, I really like that design!

How thick is the blade by the way Stitch?
