  • DIY ~ Mini Survival Knife ~ Step By Step (Here goes nothing)

I am new to knife making so I am going to give this my best shot. Some of you asked for a step by step of my next.....Here goes.......................

My first step is the layout/mark-up. The steel I am using is a heavy duty radial arm saw blade.(Pre Hardened as long as you go slow so not to heat up the metal too much) Using a sharpie I did the layout that I wanted. I know that the shape will change based on feel but this will get me close to where I want to end up.Click image for larger version

Then using a cut off wheel and a bench grinder, I did a rough cut out of the knife blank and then worked my way to my marker lines with the bench grinder.Click image for larger version
