Atlatl

I just learned how to make my very own Atlatl. It is a spear thrower. There are several different designs. I learned the most basic. I am having fun learning to throw with this thing. I also had to learn how to make spears. Have a friend that has some bamboo, and am straightening them by heating them over fire as taught by my instructor. Had alot of fun and starting to feel pretty confident with it. Has anyone else used these and may have some tips?
