Can anyone direct me to what kind of preparation a college student should take? I am leaving for college tomorrow and I need some tips.

Get your bug out bag together .... food, water, firemaking tools/material, means to create a shelter .... poncho, 550 cord, don't bother with a tent .... it weighs too much and takes up valuable space, good hiking boots and protective clothing .... search this site and get your stuff together. And winter is not far off ....

I'm in the same boat with you. as I'm attending WCU and I can only have minimal supplies. restricted by campus rules and the small size of my dorm.

Exactly. Been there and experienced that. Don't fall for it, stand up for yourself and what's right.

Basic frist aid kit. Spare outfit with boots. At least 32 oz bottle of clean fresh water and if u can a MRE . I can make one last three days if needed I'm. 6' 4'' at 280 lbs so it should be enough for the average person for 2 days pocket knife or multi tool if rule allow it. Shelter as said above. This should be enough to get away

When I was in the Dorms, I had a backpack with a couple hundred feet of 550 cord, a couple cans of high calorie food (ravioli and such), some hard candy, A couple 1 liter bottles of water, a Walmart water purification tablet bottle, a small first aid kit, a couple lighters, a survival blanket and a pancho. Anything else you can adjust to what you need
