O.K., so we've gone over gas storage and how to keep it for as long as possible, so now I want to ask, will diesel keep longer? What about propane, I have seen some trucks with a rig to run off propane, how long will it keep?

I am getting a new generator to replace my gasoline model over concerns about fuel storage. Propane also is cleaner and will keep your engine cleaner and help it last longer. A 100 lb propane bottle can run a small generator for a long time, 2-3 of those bottles and I can run a generator a couple hours a day for 4-6 months or longer without the worries about rotating gasoline. You can also get a large propane storage tank, but I can bug out with the 100 lb bottles but could not with a 250 gallon storage tank (not yet anyway)
I have considered making one of my trucks duel fuel to run off gasoline or propane, also due to fuel storage concerns. It is pretty easy to store a large amount of propane with no worries about rotating or having it go bad.
Diesel stores ok, much better than gasoline but you need to treat it to keep algae out and keep water out of it too.My weapon can kill, it isn't limited to mere assault

Propane
We run ads "looking for used propane tanks" we do that type thing for a lot of stuff. Just got a 100 gallon for 35.00 bucks. We have them checked and converted to a 40' hose regulated fitting. Then filled on the spot. Then camo painted a little.
The flex hose (low pressure hose) coversion allows me to hook each stored tank to the main tank output. But not back feed into the main tank. Thus I can shift from one 500 to another to to other larger tanks. We have enough propane for a couple years for all the propane needs.
Propane generators seem to cost another 30-40 percent over the diesel counterpart?
Redundant generators run several times a year is a good thing. Because of the size and scope of our outfit we run a 40KW, 17KW, 6KW, 5.5KW and a 4.5KW. It give us flexiblity and during an extended crisis event if/when one fails...no parts store around. Just like anything else you intend to do you had better have back up and back up for that.

Just about any gasoline generator can be converted to dual fuel pretty easily with a propane regulator and nozzle that mounts under the air filter.
I an gonna buy a dedicated propane generator and convert my gasolone generator to dual fuel.My weapon can kill, it isn't limited to mere assault
