We have started using these "Underbed Truck Boxes" We build a very-very-very heavy steel frame that, that the box locks into. We Backpack the steel frame out and plant it, so the box floor will be about four feet above ground. This allows for heavy snow fall years. The boxes are camo painted and fitted with a gillie type suit made of burlap.

We put the frame in position and repaint it to match its exact location environment, then cover it, and transplant trees and bushes tight around the frame. After the frame has aged for two years, and the transplanted vegetation has overgrown the frame, we then install the box. The boxes have fairly strong locks, but we mostly rely on the box being hidden.

We have a (30 gun) "Gunsafe" we are going to haul out this winter. We plan to have the frame in place by this fall, then haul out only the box-cabinet part of the safe this winter on the snow machine and freight sled. We plan to not take the door out for several years or sooner if the SHTF.

Humans have never been a problem with my caching program........It is those 1,100 to 1,400 pound Alaska Coastal Brown Bears that are a bother.

One day you eat the chicken.....next day the left-over chicken.....next five days you eat chicken feathers, head and feet.
