The people who did belt up are just banged up or are trying to help their friends or loved ones.
Yes...I think the latest statistics are something like over 85% of TAs which involve rollovers or airborne vehicles in which restraints are unused resut in either partial or total ejection of occupants.....of those ejected, nearly 65% are fatal, and neary 30% are severly injured, causeing lifelong debilitation.

Should you get a ticket for not wearing your belt? Nah. Just an "I'm an idiot" bumper sticker. Remember this: This woman crossed the oncoming lane in this event at over 80MPH....she coud very wel have met oncoming traffic, but was fortunate not to. Someone who wasn't driving like an idiot could just as easily been involved. It doesn't have to be your fault to be your funeral.

        Buckle up, guys...and drive safe.

She's stable and in excellent condition, considering her injuries, and is coherent and very thankful to be alive....
I think she was very lucky. Hopefully she won't make that mistake again.

            Lesson Learned

I have started driving MUCH more carefully since I broke my car in half in 2002. I wasn't speeding but the road a wet from a light rain and i skidded off the raod into the woods. Evrything from the firewall back stayed in the woods. Firewall forward was 50ft away in the road. I walked away with only a bruised left ulna.
God waws watching out for me that day.:)

              Big Saw,

You went "ABCD", Above and Beyond the Call of Duty.

You're one of the reasons that this forum is so great.

You're one of the "Good Guys"!

And Good Guys always attract enemies.

Evil always tries to destroy goodness.

But you are much better than that.

The Light does not tolerate the darkness.

You are a shining example of what is good.

              Thank you.

I saw this the other day; ashhat backing out of parking spot while choking on burger and holding cell phone to ear, what's he got 3 arms? CPs are a menace, I rarely see a woman without one glued to her head, it gives new creadance to the term 'woman driver'. Worse than women are the men who are so self involved that puting down the CP would shatter thier egos. I actually had a manly-man get angry at me because he was trying to pull out into heavy traffic while on his Precious Cell Phone, he failed to notice me and my deisel PU less that 10 feet away from him and nearly hit me! He never set down his phone, I guess he was busy saving the world or something.
