  • A Prep We Sometimes Take For Granted...

Lemme start off by saying that I believe in personal choice, and accountability....that being said, I believe that seat belt laws are written and enforced by asshats who don't believe such. Now that you know where I stand, you should also know that I believe if you get into your car and don't buckle up, pay attention to what the f*ck you're doing, and keep your wits about you, you're an even bigger asshat, by my count.

THIS happened today in MY yard at around 15:00, because some woman was doing 80 around the bend in a 35MPH zone, yackin' on her CP and probably staring at the CD case we found on the ground next to her.

The van left the road, hit my ditch and flew about 75 ft. before meeting up ith a telephone pole at an altitude of 20+ ft. Female occupant was ejected somewhere mid-flight through the windshield and rolled/skidded appx. 25 ft. after touchdown to end up in a briar patch next to a tree.

Baby shoes near the scene were a horror....thankfully we discovered her 2 y/o was at home....not in the bushes.

So the next time you decide to hit the road...do yourself a favor...prepare to drive safely...or suffer your own consequences.

No Prob...I'll be sticking this thread until I'm confident it's sunk in a bit.....and in case anyone's wondering, I'll not be posting photos of the vic....so don't ask....that part's nobody's biz, and I'd consider it a f*cking travesty to ask.

So, what you are saying is you have pics of the vic, but if one is to ask to see them, it is wrong in your eyes? What does it say about the one who TOOK the pictures in the first place? Dont play the line "evidence". Hmmmm, can you say hypocrite???

Voodoo, what on earth was that post all about, talk about negativity and picking a fight. He's obviously not going to post pics of the vic out of respect and privacy.

So why would one take them in the first place? Why mention he has them? Having or taking is not a violation of privacy? Wake up! It is wrong, and never should have been done in the first place.

actually, if it happened at my house, I would take pics and videos, for insurance purposes.

oh, yeah. And I ALWAYS wear my seatbelt.

                    LOL ZA. That's just silly.

Thankfully, our automotive industry is making vehicles safer to drive by implementing little gadgets in the car itself to save lives. Air bags, seat belts, headlights that turn when you turn your wheels, turn signals on side-view mirrors, blue-tooth enabled dash panels for your cell phone, and 47 cup holders.

Unfortunately the only thing they haven't done to ensure the safety of drivers is remove those obnoxious poles sticking out the ground, or putting padded bumpers along roads similar to what you see in a bowling alley for 8-year-olds.

With all of the deaths and injuries caused by telephone poles why hasn't the government tried to dan or restrict were they are used. What about public safety? My 2 cents on seat belts, most new cars are very well built and handle roll overs but in every roll over I have seen or come across the person or people not wearing seat belts are lying dead 20-70ft away from the auto. The people who did belt up are just banged up or are trying to help their friends or loved ones.

If you drive fast to get there quicker.....you should have left earlier!!! If you don't wear a seatbelt you can be ejected...or pinned in.
I think the choice to buckle up should be your own..better safe than sorry!
Too bad there are so many dumb ass folks in the world who think they have the ''right'' to go barrelling ass down the road with no concern of others.Seems only fitting for some of them to ''pay'' for their own F-ups.
The trouble being those who are innocent victims.

Well, now that you've given me the opportunity to make you look stupid, here's your lesson for today:

                            * I am a Nationally Registerd EMT-I CCFM, and am bound to patient confidentiality...that means that I can either divulge a person's identity, or their injuries, but not both. You'll notice that neither the vic's name, nor her likeness were displayed in my post, therefor I'm absolutely free do divulge details about her injuries, as well as the particulars of the scene.

                            * I volunteered my photographs as a service to the Crawford County Sheriff's Office for the purpose of evidence and signed a chain of evidence form, as well as a record of duplicate, and was given permission by the OIC to release the above photos to the local press, and to publish them for my own purposes.

                            * I visited the woman in question (who's life my wife and I saved, mind you) at the trauma center today and introduced myself, talked for about 2 hrs, and am reasonably assured that my decision to share the experience with you, for your benefit had her utmost blessing. And I happened to have probably made a friend for life....

And all you can do is call me a hypocrite?

Boo on you, Man....you miss up on a valuable life-lesson to make some dumb crack that you probably didn't even think out very well......boo.

From what I learned today, she suffered a couple of minor skull fractures, a punctured lung - due to one of six broken ribs, a crushed coccyx, a puncture wound to her stomach (due to a twig being lodged in her side), and various other bumps, bruises and scrapes. She's stable and in excellent condition, considering her injuries, and is coherent and very thankful to be alive....I look forward to having her as a guest in my church in a few weeks.
I think we might have one more safe driver out there when it's all said and done...;)
She had decided to leave her 2y/o girl w/the grandparents while she went on an errand....all I can say to that is: Whatever you choose to call Him, there most definitely is a god....
