He is French. I thought all they carried was a White Flag, a bottle of wine a block of cheese and a bundle of fresh herbs in their BOB.

This reminds me of a joke I heard about a classified ad:

"For Sale: World War II Era French Military Rifle. Never shot, dropped once."

                :D

GUY SOUNDS LIKE A TREE HUGGING PANZY! WOULD NOT WANT HIM ANYWHERE NEAR ME IN THE WOODS. HE HAS WAY TOO MUCH REDUNDANT CRAP, THAT IN A TRUE SITUATION, WOULD WEIGH HIM DOWN. PLUS IT WOULD TAKE HOURS TO FIND ANYTHING. FRENCH PEOPLE = cheese eating surrender monkeys!!!!!

Seems like a pack would be a lot easier to carry all of this stuff. Should the SHTF I bet it would hit his pants too and if he could find any of his "essential" items they'd be rendered useless. At least the ones in his "ankle pockets" anyways. hahah!

Frankly, I care not if the dude is French or not... the point is he is proving that one can carry a bunch of gear...

It does seem cumbersome, but it is probably suited for his area of operation... It is impressive IMHO

Yeah, your right ZA. It is impressive and I'm really not some "french hater" although the few I've met in my travels did not nullify the stereotypes at all.

I think that his set up is just a bit ridiculous for EDC. I mean I have a frivolous item in my EDC; a foldable steel shovel. I keep it mainly for a joke cause it looks like a knife pouch but says "U-Dig-It" on the side and I know that there will be that one day when someone is like "If I only had a shovel!!"

As for the rest of my EDC it's actually stuff that I use EVERY day.

A knife, a pen, a sharpie, a wallet, chap-stick, contact drops, matches, 3 dice(for cee-loo), money of course, a #2 bag for my dog, my keys, and my cell phone. Oh and my shovel.

I just can't think of a situation that I would need grease or glue or tape and not be able to get to it in time. Or for that matter "WC" paper. I mean I can usually feel that coming on and if not I have used the drawers that I was wearing at the time before.

Anyway, that's just me. At least the guy is ready. I'd hate to be behind him in line for an airplane though.
