A little whiskey mixed with a few ice cubes helps settle the nerves. May not help the stomach though.
(I'm told not to use the whiskey on small children, although effective people generally disapprove)

Another thing about baking soda...
A little baking soda mixed with water is an excellant stomach settler. If things keep going the way they're going, or in any emergancy, something to settle the stomach can bring much needed relief!

A couple cords of pine and cherry wood, 12 volt, 30amp crank generator, and a strand 100 christmas lights.
Confused? Here's the solution:
Wood, obvious source of heat and fuel for cooking.
Generator can be easily adapted to attach to the rear end of a bicycle made stationary, and wired to a spare car battery.
In a strand of 100 christmas lights, 50 are run in series, meaning each bulb in a 120v string are roughly 2.5v each. Clip the lights so 5 or 6 are in series, and attach the leads to the battery. You now have a cheap way to light a small room, and it takes up almost no power to run.

My daddy almost died from poison oak. he was on steroids and anti-inflammatories because it got into his bloodstream, even in his eyes. He looked as if someone literally had poured acid all over his body...
