  • Tuesday Preparedness Level- the Inauguration

I was wondering if anyone else changes their levels of preparedness according to national events.

On Tuesday with the Inauguration, I plan to have the truck already loaded.

This will also be the first time I have put everything together in one location, since I started my emergency preparations in November 08.

Hopefully this will just be a good practice drill.

Let us hope, or pray, or chant or whatever, that nothing happens. It would be very detrimental to the republic.

I too will be thinking of things as my day progresses.

President Bush is going to be here in Midland....the only thing I'm doing is working out of the house in the afternoon so I don't have to deal with traffic when 20,000 Texas citizens swarm downtown. I'd love to go and see the event, but I'm not a big fan of crowds.
Oh yeah....the coronation of obamasama...I suppose I should raise my threat level...but anything would be in DC, way too far to matter immediately..enuf time to get home...the whole 3 miles...ample time to get to BOL if needed.

I'm as ready as I can be for "something"...

Seen my profile pic? Maybe I should mount a cow catcher on the front of it in case the streets are "crowded"?

I'm sure I will be able to get back here in the hills (20 miles) before much could happen in this rural, predominately republican, conservative minded area.

Normal, conservative, middle clas folks generally are not known for getting together in crowds, and looting their neighbors homes and business, or burning down their cars.

Never seen one of my neighbors walk in waste deep water from a storm surge carrying a TV either. We don't have storm surges up here! :D;)

Since the coronation is in DC, I'm thinking NY will be relatively safe this go-around.

A little concerned about some of the nearby towns, and potential bands of roving revelers; I think my kids will stay home after school. We didn't really have trouble after the election, so I'm sure it'll be fine.

Don't think nothing is gonna happen much... but plan on keeping the radio on to hear if anything happens for the coronation
