I'd say you are gonna pay 1.5 to a little over 3k for night vision gear... that is for good night vision...
Any night vision (passive) is better than no night vision... but imho, buy once, cry never again :)
I would say go with @ minimum, gen 2 should be your baseline. Pretty decent capabilities with this.
Gen 3 is probably as much as one would want to spend on a device...
Gen 4 is very nice... but is/was close to 5k...
Stick with a reputable maker... ITT and ATN are my top pics :)
