Was thinking about night vision today actually. Would be a good investment for property protection or hunting at night.

What would be your suggestions for a good set that won't cost you an arm and a leg?
I don't have a clue about gen 1 or gen 2 so any advice would be appreciated.

Sorry, Man...good NV is just not cheap....you get what you pay for in the NV market.

Be prepared to drop around a grand for decent gear.

I'd say you are gonna pay 1.5 to a little over 3k for night vision gear... that is for good night vision...

Any night vision (passive) is better than no night vision... but imho, buy once, cry never again :)

I would say go with @ minimum, gen 2 should be your baseline. Pretty decent capabilities with this.

Gen 3 is probably as much as one would want to spend on a device...

Gen 4 is very nice... but is/was close to 5k...

Stick with a reputable maker... ITT and ATN are my top pics :)

Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to
beat you to death with it because it is empty.
