I was just about to chime in about that deal, I guess they are gone from the SG catalog?? I never changed my address with them so I don't get the catalogs anymore.

They used to sell the black Canadian and British surplus ones, complete with NSN and everything, man what a deal those were!

I wear Gore-Tex boots at work, year round, but sometimes add additional protection in the winter. I really like Sealskinz socks. They are not gore-tex, but work the same way.

Sometimes you want to wear a pair of footwear that is not waterproof, but you wish they were for whatever reason (bicycling, rock climbing, golf and running shoes come to mind) so waterproof socks really make alot of sense.

So maybe those Jungle boots would be sweet if they would keep your feet dry... now you can wear ANY type of foot wear and your dawgs will stay dry...

Also they have a pair of socks that will allow you to step into a hole of water up to your hip but the sock makes a seal and keeps your foot dry!!!

So check them out (they also make some nice gloves):
