To be honest I have an old pair of Nikons that take a licking, but keep on ticking. I would like a new pair simply to get something smaller/lighter, but have more important things I need to spend money on first.

They are the military's M22 binos. Perfect choice for me. They are armored, rugged, waterproof, have good optics and since I'm proficient with Mil-Dot reticles the fact that it has one is a huge plus. Great optics in a small package. Good optics are worth their wieght in gold when it comes to scouting/reconing and avoiding danger.

Nice optics. All I have is a pair of old Bushnell binoculars in my bag.
