Well, I have a Rat RC-6 with a rather slippery handle that also hurts the hand when chopping with gloves on so I cut a piece of bicycle inner tube out to slip on over the handle at it has made a big difference.

All of us familiar with the Mora knives pretty much agree the sheaths suck because the knife isn't retained very well so I slipped a small piece on in the right spot on the handle and it works PERFECT!

Bicycle innertube is so handy as a firestarter in bad weather and even as heavy duty rubbber bands.

We all hate loosing gear with the cost of things now days, not to mention the fact that losing certain things could in a worse case scenario cost you or someone else their life! So I think this is a good tip not to mention cheap.

As you can see in the pictures it just comes down to some bright colored cord. It may not be tactical, but if it came down to that the cord on certain items could be replaced with O.D. cord I keep in my pack anyway.

For those of you that own small UCO lanterns (tea light) with the glass globe find yourself one of these hard cover eyeglass cases. It fits perfect and holds 4 tea light candles. (1 in the lantern)

Very cool, does that cord have the reflctive material in it by chance? If so where did you get it? I really want the reflective stuff bad for day and night use.

For those of you that want a great striker for your firesteel I've got the ticket for you and better yet you may even have some around the house.

The old carbon steel kitchen knife sets with wooden handles is what your looking for. For ex. Chicago Cutlery. Take the wooden handles off, break or grind the brass rivets off and cut the handle off to fit your fingers. The edge on these tangs will throw sparks like you wouldn't believe!

I replaced the bail on my Swedish mess kit with 1/16" steel wire. not only is less hassle and quieter but allows me to pack the pot in a much smaller area

heres the pot in use. the wire in this shot is 1/8" but turned out to be to stiff so i replaced it with the smaller stuff

And if planned right...could be used as a snare.

                          The wire that is....
