The draw weight depends on the length of the string. Without looking at it I think it is adjustable between 40 & 45 lbs.

    Echo2,
Thanks. When I bought mine I think it was around $85.00. There is one listed for $250.00, ouch!

I have had it for a couple of years now. It has been on temploan to the Backpacking Instructor at Yavapai College for the last year as he gets more field time than I do. So far the only casualty has been a broken bow string. The center section is magnesium. The other two pieces have plywood cores with fiberglass laminate on the outside. It hasn't seemed to have degraded in my experience. I am not sure who made it, but there was one similar in the 2009 movie "a Perfect Getaway".

nice.....just wondering....made in the 70s.....would there be any fear of the fiberglass degrading?

Very cool though.....some one is making a modern day version....can't remember who though.

    Bear Minuteman Takedown Bow

A friend of mine has on of these. After seeing his I had to have one, too. I think these were made in the early 1970s. The first picture is of it broken down. The second picture is of my wife shooting it. It is a lightweight piece of gear that I would highly recommend. I found mine on Ebay.
