Dive gear.
When I was younger I used to dive. Now with other responsibilities I just don't have the time and I've let most of my stuff go over the years. The one thing I still keep is a pair of fins, a mask and snorkel. The wife and kids also have goggles in there packs.
At this point you may be saying, "Bill why do you have dive gear when you live in OK?" Well for a few reasons. Lake and river foraging will be easier when you can see under the water. I would also use them for a safety measure. If we had to cross a stream or river that is moving fast, after we tie ourselves off the goggles would go on just in case someone slipped and went under. The panic of being under water would be lessoned being able to see. For the extra few ounces in a pack it's well worth it. Something to think about. ..:cool:Tags: None
