When's the last time you knocked the cobwebs out of your generators?
Just ran through our generators and started them up....
First... was the Miller Bobcat 225, 8kw.....all was good....40 more hours till oil change. this one gets ran fairly often. Hooked a space heater to it. ran under load for about 1/2 hour...GTG.
Second...was the Multiquip/ Honda 6.5k....same load test...GTG.
Third... was the Honda EU3000...started....ran good...load tested fine...GTG
Fourth....#1 Coleman Sport 1850....started fine....load tested with a halo light tower with 2 500w bulbs....GTG.
Fifth....#2 Coleman Sport 1850....did not want to start....left the gas on last time used....finally got it going....sputtered a bit. Will have to check it over the next couple weeks to see if it's cleared up or needs to go to our mechanic for servicing.
This past fall we did a full run servicing....changed all filters, plugs, wires, etc. We went with good synthetics in all of them. We also made it a priority to go ahead and get full servicing kits for all the big boys....and enough stuff to keep the little ones going for a while.
We have been running non-ethanol gas in all of them...and stabilizer added....the pure fuel is getting harder and harder to find. If you're going to store fuel....it's what I recommend.
So look at this as a friendly PSA....just cause spring is afoot...don't forget the power stuff...:)
