  • RBB? (Revolutionary Battle Bag?)

While reading posts in the General Chat forum I couldn't help but think, (while hearing Schoolhouse Rock in my head, "Grab your powder, grab your gun, report to General Washington the Minute Men are already on the move........") that while bugging out is fine for certain situations it doesn't really work when it's time to step up and be counted among those who resist this "change" happening to our beloved country. I did wake up and find the America I knew had changed.

I could no sooner bug out and run than I could vote for obama. When it's time to call in and write letters, I'll be there. When it's time to protest, and march I'll be there. When it's time to stomp our feet and shout, I'll be there. When all other means are exhausted and it becomes time to stand together, I'll be there.

I want to be safe, I want my family to be safe, but I also want our Country, my America to be safe. I've sworn an oath several times and by that I will stand. Natural Disasters, maybe I'll bug out. This storm that's brewing isn't natural and I'll be standing my ground!

Just thinking maybe my BOB needs adjusting.............
Well, for me, the action is the juice.....I'm in.

    Very well put.

Unless it looks as though my family is in peril, I plan to stay put. I have a BOB, (nothing like yours, I assure you) and many of my preps are diversified into rubbermaid containers for quick loading, but I seem to spend more of my time lately setting up the home for off grid living.
Been writing those letters already. I must confess that it has been a fruitless endeavor thus far. One exception... Richard Burr, NC Senator has responded favorably to recent correspondence concerning the food safty act. I'm glad that he got my vote. He'll get it again.... assuming that we see another election.
The 12ga.... It's not just for rabbits anymore.

      Mags,
Funny you should post this today. Two nights ago, the family that is here had a sit down and we discussed that very thing. I told them that as far as I was concerned, we were not going to attempt to get to the BOL we have in New Mexico. Instead, we were to formulate plans to defend the two locations here in town and the one outside town. If the SHTF in town, then we move to the location outside town. All agreed that we should take a stand and this is the line we have drawn in the sand. They will not drive me from my home. They will have to drag my limp body from it first.

Wife and I have tried everything, writing our congresscritters, senators; attended what they call Congress on the Corner vice a TownHall meeting; and been to numerous Tea Parties. Apparently to no avail. Our Congresscritter supports the Obama plan. We still tell everyone we know and some we don't.

Like you, I took my oath to defend this great nation almost forty years ago. I have not forgotten that oath and still serve under that oath today. I have a son and a son-in-law that also took that same oath. With them standing by my side with the women next to us, we are prepared for what ever comes our way.

If you were here or I was there, I think we would be standing beside each other.

I've got your back. (Well, from a distance anyway.:))

I love your sentiment and agree with it, but feel it is a day that will never come. To many people in this country love to bitch and talk tough, but will not take action.

The goverment has gotten much to powerfull and the difference in firepower between the few that would stand and the goverment it would stand against, is just insurmountable. IMHO, the only way a change of power could occur is through an internal coup.

It is unfortunate, but we no longer live in a world where the "Revolutionary Way" could possible happen. We have stripped of what would be needed to fight it and not enough people have the stomach to fight it. Everyone and I mean everyone back then was tough as nails, compared to 99.9% of our society today. They had to work hard to live day to day and that is what gave them the spirit to fight. The difference in firepower, technology and munitions was not nearly as significant as today. Sure, they had to fight canons and better guns, but nothing that could destroy entire encampments, in the dark, from 300 miles away.

Sorry, but I don't even feel that day is worth additional the planning. it just will not happen.

[I love your sentiment and agree with it, but feel it is a day that will never come. To many people in this country love to bitch and talk tough, but will not take action.]

I recently read that a mere 3% of the colonists took up arms to fight against the British while the remaining majority stood idly by and some went so far as to support the crown and betray their fellow colonists ..... although history just happened to be my favorite subject when I was a lad, I didn't quite have a mindset for statistics or dates so I'll just have to accept this bit of information as historical fact. Should I survive the initial onslaught, it is my intention as well as my duty to ensure this bit of history does not repeat itself. There are many who have betrayed our trust and exploited their positions to their own advancement. There may come the time that the fires subside and the smoke clears ..... and these people must be held accountable ...... NO MERCY ......

[The goverment has gotten much to powerfull and the difference in firepower between the few that would stand and the goverment it would stand against, is just insurmountable.]

This isn't about winning ..... this impending mayhem has been engineered..... our reactions have been anticipated .... it is expected ...... While I would like to survive this calamity I do not fear death; should my well thought out plans fail me or I find myself overwhelmed, at a minimum this will be the opportunity for my last great act of defiance .....

[Sorry, but I don't even feel that day is worth additional the planning. it just will not happen.]

            Good luck

It's funny this is here today, I was discussing the very topic with the better half as I finished my work day.
Glad to see there are some Patriots out there, as you have stated here we too have written, partied, called etc. and of course we both wish and hope it will have some effect on the mess our political system is in today. While I hope for the best I believe the corruption runs way deeper then just this administration it seems systemic. We will continue to do things the civilized way for now unsure when the tipping point would be reached. But, I suspect as we start going off like random pieces of popcorn in a kettle more and more will follow and I am at ease that this coming fight it isn't about "US" or "ME" but about our kids and their kids. I am finding it easier to think of what really matters. After all it is our mess, we are to blame for thinking of ourselves first way to often. The shotgun will sing the song, my only dread is having to turn a gun on a young person not really knowing why they are being ordered to do things to the American people. I will happily use it on the commanders though.
              My God Bless us All,
The Declaration of Independence states "But when a long train of abuses and surpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security"

HERE, HERE!! I love hearing our founding fathers words being spoken (written). However the method, these guys knew one day a group would try to subdue the people. I would ask everyone to read our Constitution once more.

To all of my true American brothers and sisters the day will come when must stand and fight.I will be one in the front of the line leading the way for my children and my childrens children will truely be able to live free. . I think that in back of everyones minds they know it is coming sooner rather than later. This is way guns and ammo is the frist thing people tinhk of when it come to prepping . I love my country as much as I love my family. I can not and would not stand by and watch my family go done in flames nor will I stand by and watch America do the same.when my vote dosent count anymore it will be time, when my voice is refused to be heard it is time , when they tryto take my guns it will be time. Until then I will vote, I will write, email, call, scream, shout, kick, stomp, piss, bit# #,moan and groan in hopes that the wrongs are fixed.

May God bless all the TRUE patriots!!!

Nothing ever worth having was easy to get. America is worth fighting for. Being outgunned, outmanned, outclassed, etc, these are not reasons to allow someone to bully you into doing nothing while something you love goes down in flames. I want my name in the column of those that resisted, even if that self same column is nothing more than the death toll. Have faith in God and your country, do what is right even when it is wrong. My intention is not to offend, simply to express my own opinion.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you on this one. Maybe you know more about the members on this forum than I, but I don't see anyone portraying themselves as a procrastenator. I know we are all at different levels of preparedness, with our preps and knowledge, and I do have a pile of laundry that I should have put in the washer this past weekend, but to label a large portion of the membership here as procrastenators, seems a bit overboard. I'm probably speaking out of turn here, And Diesel, please correct me if I'm wrong, but the T-shirt idea looked to me as a "break even" venture at best. That idea, though a good one, would have taken up quite a bit of time and resources. I'd be willing to bet, that if you PM'd Diesel and explained how YOU would like to take the lead on the T-shirt idea. He might listen.
                          YOU could:
                          Have some mockups drawn up.
Get Diesel's approval on the final design.
Locate a supplier and a printer.
Order and pay for a first run (Probably at least 10 shirts in every size. Maybe more for bulk discounts)
Take delivery and setup payment and shipping options for members
Handle the shipping on all future orders

Sounds like a PIA to me... Maybe Diesel thought the same.

As for meet ups. I don't see where it says that we can't meet and greet. I know that many of us already have met. I believe the rules say to keep any plans to PM's. This seems pretty smart to me. I really don't care to post on the internet, where I'm going to be at any particular time, and I'm sure Diesel doesn't want XColony to be held accountable, or be associated with any activities or discussions that could be construed as illegal, or irresponsible.
On the message board, content can be controlled to keep things socially acceptable and XColony a respectable forum. Face to face group meetups.... Not so much.
