ever think of setting up caches along a pre planned route, just to decrease some of the weight. like one day out hit one of your cache for food ammo first aid kit , etc.,

I don't think it's hokey at all. 60# is aload my friends, 35# to 40# is aload for a man my age anymore. Pick up my M1A, the 45 and 1/2 gallon of water and 20 miles becomes a long trek. I think that we will see alot of these thing in the bush and on the roads for the new nomads and wandering. I bet you could harness and big dog with a light load.... Mmmmmm...

I have one that I use for all kinds of stuff, hauling firewood, bags of feed, bails of hay, deer, tree stands, water, camping gear, building supplies and all of my little girls beach toys, chairs and cooler to the beach. There are a lot of different models. The one I have folds flat and is made of aluminum and I paid like $80.00. I would highly recomend because I beat the daylights out of mine and it shows no signs of wear. Plus it would be great to have in a BOV incase the BOV becomes dissabled.

I know, but I'd rather attempt great distance with something like this than with that 60# on my back.

I have seen many of these, both store bought and homemade, and they do work good for getting a heavy load a short distance over rough ground but I would surely hate to attempt any great distance with one.

Was thumbing through the Owl's Cabela's catalogue and saw this. I have read about all of your BOBs and most of them weigh 60 pounds. If you put 60 pounds on my back, I'd fall over backwards and all you'd see is arms and legs waving in the air.
