  • The start for my BOV

I can't post pictures untill I have more posts, but it is a 1984 Ford Bronco with 80,000 original miles, 33 inch off-road tires, and needs a little TLC. 4X4 works good, and I got a great deal on it. I traded a car trailer for it. I figure this would make a decent BOV since I could store a good amount of gear in it, which would mean less to grab or leave behind in the event I do need to high tale it out of Dodge! Plans include a slight lift for better tire clearance. I will make custom steel pipe bumpers and grill guard at the steel shop I work at. It will have a less noticable paint job, possibly camoflage but I haven't decided. C.B. radio as well as a power inverter for other radios, etc.
If folks are interested I will post pics and updates on the project as it progresses.

Keep us updated. I'd love to see how the project progress's.
Well, for me, the action is the juice.....I'm in.

I will keep you all posted, and as soon as I have enough posts to be able to post pictures I will post a bunch from the begining and bring everyone up to date.

This weekend I fixed a leak in the carberator, checked the brake system, and gave the truck a thorough inspection to see what all I need to do to get it where I want it. I will change all the filters and fluids next weekend and hopefully fix the steering column. I broke it this weekend. I was climbing from the backseat to the front and was leaning on the wheel for support when it fell all the way down where it is supposed to tilt at. I looked all over and could not find a lever to make it go back up. So, in a stupid Bruno moment, I grabbed the wheel and pulled up on it as hard as I could and POP!! the wheel tilts up now, but when I let go it falls back down. I now need to fix the column because I was a dork, lol. So that was the start of what is sure to be an adventure in humility for sure, lol. Today at work I started on my front bumper. Will keep y'all updated as the project moves forward.

Well, a quick update. I almost have the paint finished. I went with a three color Camo scheme with spray cans. I also picked up a new steering column from the junkyard. (I destroyed the old one doing something stupid.) I had a date with the firing range so I didn't have alot of time to work on it. I will post pictures as soon as I have enough posts to do so. I will keep posting updates as well. Feel free to offer suggestions as well!:)

Okay, this weekend I had a billiards tournament and spent monday with the veterans in my family. I did get the new steering column installed Friday evening. Found a water leak thanks to the tons of rain we have been getting here too. No big deal, easy fix with new door seals. Need to replace the front passenger side corner of the body where the door bolts on due to rust. Again, not a big deal for me to fix. I will likely work on the "luxuries" this weekend such as the radio. I will be driving it to work for awhile to assess the reliability of the vehicle and hopefully uncover any other gremlins that need attention. My Father-in-law gave me a visor that goes above the windshield so I may install that too. I will post pics as soon as I can unless Mr. Deisel would like to allow me to sooner. Lol. Y'all please offer up any suggestions you may have. I am open to all advice/criticism.

Okay, I posted a pic of the Bronco as my profile picture, lol. Let's see if that works. Quick update; putting a flywheel in it this weekend. We will see what else I can get done.

Thanks for the support folks. I get frustrated with these computers easy.

Got the flywheel changed this weekend. The wife asked me what I wanted for my birthday coming up so I told her a body lift for the Bronco. With a three inch body lift I will be able to run 36 inch tires. Then i will work on the little things like dash lights, etc. Changing out the belts and checking all the vaccum hoses and checking electrical wires this weekend. I have been driving it to work all this week and am happy to report no gremlins to chase out of the truck. This morning as I am walking up to the drivers door I saw a frog climbling up the inside of the drivers window! LMAO! I guess I might better get the weather stripping and the holes in the floor fixed before I sit on one in the wee hours of the morning, lol. Will keep updating as things progress. When I figure out how to post pics I will do so. Can I use photobucket?

Here in Arizona, it'd probably be a legless frog, diamondback variety .
