I have the Safari Model myself. I really like it for use while kayaking/canoeing in swamps and in 'critter areas' where I want to be off of the ground.
I have only used it in warmer months and it works great. To be honest, I never really like the sleeping position of a hammock but this one works well and I'll suck it up and use it for those special situations. I have even heard that some folks use them in colder climates/weather, but can't comment on that.
I opted for the safari model since it was the strongest rated model (350lbs) so I could keep my gear with me and dry. I found that it is very easy to use and sleeps cool. I probably have used the fly from it more than the hammock!!! LOL
I do take it on those truck camping trips and set up as a day lounger. Nothing like it for taking a break and keeping the bugs out!
